The Fourth ASEAN Congress of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology
TROPICAL INFECTIOUS DISEASES AND VECTORS IN A VIBRANT AND EVER - CHANGING ENVIRONMENT
2nd - 4th JUNE 2010
RAFFLES TOWN CLUB, SINGAPORE
The ASEAN Congress of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology was inaugurated in 2004 to provide an affordable platform for scientists, academia and public health practitioners from the ASEAN region to present their findings and network within the region with the aim of reducing the burden of tropical infectious diseases in the region.
The first ASEAN Congress (2004) was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, followed by the second (2006) in Bandung, Indonesia and the third (2008) in Bangkok, Thailand. This year the Congress was held in Singapore from 2 to 4 June 2010 at the Raffles Town Club, Singapore. The theme of the 4th Congress was “Tropical Infectious Diseases and Vectors in a Vibrant and Ever–changing Environment”. The overwhelming response of about 320 participants from 25 countries, including ASEAN and other countries such as Turkey, Colombia, United Kingdom, Australia and Iran, is a testimony to the importance of this subject.
