On a daily basis, officers from National Environment Agency (NEA) are deployed to conduct house-to-house inspections for mosquito breeding and other public health related matters. During such inspections, our officers will wear the NEA uniform, which consists of a white shirt or a corporate polo shirt bearing the NEA logo, blue trousers and a name tag on the right hand side of the shirt. Prior to entering the premises, NEA officers will identify themselves with their NEA authority cards bearing their photos. The owners or occupiers of the premises will be informed of the purpose of their visit before the officers seek permission to enter the premises.

Members of the public can call the NEA hotline at 1800-CALL-NEA (1800-2255-632) to verify the identities of NEA officers before allowing them into the house.
On receipt of the call from the owner or occupier, NEA Call Centre will verify the information and confirm if the person seeking permission to enter the premises is an NEA officer. If the person is not an NEA officer, our Call Centre will advise the owner or occupier not to allow the person into the premises and to call the Police for assistance. NEA advises all members of the public to verify the identity of anyone claiming to represent the authorities. Impersonating a public servant is a serious offence which is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or a fine, or both. NEA is working with the Police to ensure that stern action will be taken against any impersonators.
