- Q : What are the requirements under MELS
A : The requirements as follows:
- Anyone who supplies registrable goods in Singapore must be registered with NEA.
- All registrable goods supplied in Singapore must be registered with NEA and affixed with the energy label.
- Q : What is the definition of registrable goods
A : Registrable goods are defined under the Environmental Protection and Management (Registrable Goods) Order, a copy of which can be viewed or downloaded from: http://www.nea.gov.sg/cms/ld/legislation/EPMA_Order_2.pdf
- Q : How does a supplier apply to register himself as a registered supplier and to register his registrable goods with NEA?
A : Application for the registration as a registered supplier must be made in person at NEA's Customer Service Centre located at the 2nd storey of the Environment Building on 40 Scotts Road. Application for the registration of registrable goods must be made online either by the registered supplier or an authorized third party.
- Q : Does the registration have a validity period?
A : There is no validity period for the registration as a registered supplier. For registered goods, the registration is valid for 3 years and is renewable.
- Q : What is the cost of registration? :
A :The registration fees have been waived until the end of June 09.
