Accurate diagnosis is not only essential to good clinical management; it also plays an important role in disease control and surveillance. The institute has evaluated and developed tools for rapid and early diagnosis of Dengue and other vector borne diseases such as Chikungunya. These include techniques such as real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction, antigen test and Diagnostic Saliva kit.

Working with clinicians and clinical laboratories, EHI promotes and facilitates early and rapid diagnosis of these diseases throughout the country.
