The Energy Label

Registered suppliers supplying air-conditioners and refrigerators must affix the Energy Label on the units that they supply in Singapore. The Energy Label shall be affixed only after NEA has issued the COR for the model. Retailers are only allowed to display models that have the label affixed on them.

Oval: 3 Energy Consumption

Effective power input x 1h expressed in kWh per hour.

For inverter type air-conditioners, the energy consumed at part-load cooling capacity shall also be displayed on the label.

Energy consumption over 24 hours x 365 days expressed in kWh.
Oval: 4 Capacity Full load cooling capacity expressed in kW and rounded to two decimal places.

Measured total storage volume expressed in litres (L) in whole digits.

'Actual energy consumption may vary from test results'

Oval: 10 Registration Number A unique number found on the registered model's COR, which is issued by NEA upon successful registration of the model.

Printing Requirements

The Energy Label:

(a)

shall be of the dimensions, shape and colour shown in this Schedule;
(b) shall contain information that is consistent with or drawn from the relevant test report;
(c)    shall contain text that is of the same font type and size as shown in this Schedule, legible and in the English language only;
(d)   shall be printed in an indelible manner and with a minimum resolution of 300 pixels per inch; and
(e shall be made of such material as the NEA may approve.

Affixing the Energy Label

The Energy Label must be affixed in a prominent manner as shown below:

Refrigerator

For split type air-conditioners, the Energy Label shall be affixed to the outdoor unit only. However, if only the indoor unit is displayed in the retail store, all relevant labels for all possible selections of outdoor units must be displayed prominently alongside the indoor unit.
