“Litter-Free” CoffeeShops
“Litter-Free” CoffeeShops
Coffeeshops are distinct and unique to the Singaporean way of life. In order to keep these local haunts “litter-free” and ensure that it still remains a pleasant place for all to immerse and dine in, the National Environment Agency (NEA) has partnered both Kheng Keow and FooChow Coffeeshop Associations, and other key coffeeshop operators, such as Koufu, Banquet, and Kopitiam to promote litter-free messages in their eating outlets.
The “Litter-Free” Coffeeshop Programme is an educational programme which seeks to engage the various stakeholders of a coffeeshop such as its’ customers , stallholders, owners and cleansing contractors in working together to keep the premises clean. Dr Amy Khor, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resource has officially launched the programme on 8 November 2006.
NEA is seeking the cooperation of the various stakeholders in playing a more active role in keeping our coffeeshops clean. With everyone’s effort in keeping coffeeshops clean and free of litter, the public can enjoy a comfortable time at these premises.
