Import and export of Vector herein defined under the Control of Vectors and Pesticides Act (CVPA) as any insect, including its egg, larva and pupa, and any rodent, including its young, carrying or causing, or capable of carrying or causing any disease to human beings. 

A written permission is required from the Director General under the CVPA  Regulation 16(1) if any person intends to import vector for a scientific purpose or for purposes of education or research or for such other purpose as may be acceptable to the Director-General.  

The applicant should also consult Genetic Modification Advisory Committee (GMAC) to import or use genetically modified vector for research and/or other related activities. Applicant can access the set of guidelines on GMOs research here.
