Choa Chu Kang Cemetery Exhumation Programme

Due to land scarcity, the government announced the New Burial Policy to limit the burial period to 15 years in 1998. Henceforth, NEA carries out exhumation programmes in phases at the Choa Chua Kang Cemetery, the only cemetery in Singapore available for burials. The exhumed remains may be cremated and put into a columbarium or be re-buried, according to one's religious requirements.

Current Exhumation Programme

Phase 3
Phase 3 will cover the Chinese Cemetery, Block 4, 5 and 6. The graves in the Chinese Cemetery Block 4, 5 and 6 date back between 1968 and 1978. Exhumation of graves will commence after registration of claims. All unclaimed graves will be exhumed in June 2010.

Please click here for more information on Phase 3 of the exhumation.

Next-of-kin of those buried in the Choa Chu Kang Cemetery are encouraged to keep NEA updated of their latest contact details via

CCK Exhumation hotline at Tel: (65) 679-555-11 (during office hours)
