Local Recycling Facilities

Local recycling facilities have been set up by private companies to recycle different types of wastes such as food, plastics, metals, steel slag, spent copper slag, tyres/rubber, horticultural waste, wood waste, electronic waste and construction & demolition waste.

Some of the local recycling facilities are featured below:

Recycling of Food Waste

M/s Eng Cheong Leong Agri Chem Pte Ltd, located at Benoi Lane, processes bread waste to animal feeds.

Recycling of Plastic Waste

M/s Eveready Manufacturing Pte Ltd, located at Tuas Avenue 14, processes plastic waste into plastic pellets. The plastic pellets are further supplied to manufacturers for use as feedstock in the production of plastic related products.

M/s Chuan Durn Plastic Industries Pte Ltd, located at Fan Yoong Road, processes plastic waste into pellets. The plastic pellets are further used as feedstock in the production of plastic related products or supplied to other manufacturers.

Recycling of Metals

M/s NatSteel Recycling Pte Ltd, located at Tanjong Kling Road, collects ferrous and non-ferrous metals from local industrial, commercial and construction sectors in Singapore. Its parent company M/s NatSteel Holdings Pte Ltd in turn recycles the ferrous metals by melting them in an electric arc furnace and converting it into steel products for the local construction industry.

Recycling of Steel Slag

M/s NSL Chemicals Ltd, located at Tanjong Kling Road, recovers and processes steel slag from the steel mill for road construction.

Recycling of Spent Copper Slag

M/s JPL Industries Pte Ltd, located at Tanjong Kling Road, processes spent copper slag generated from abrasive grit blasting activities in the shipyards, into recycled copper slag and interlocking paving bricks.

M/s Geocycle Singapore Pte Ltd, located at Sungei Kadut Street 6, processes spent copper slag for abrasive grit blasting and eco-concrete.

Recycling of Tyres / Rubber

M/s Morelastic Green Resource Pte Ltd, located at Sarimbun Recycling Park, processes scrap tyres / rubber into rubber chips. The metals present in the tyres are extracted for further recycling.

Recycling of Horticultural Waste

M/s Kiat Lee Landscape & Building Pte Ltd, located at Sarimbun Recycling Park, processes horticultural waste into compost. The company also processes wood waste into charcoal. 

M/s Bee Joo Industries Pte Ltd, located at Sarimbun Recycling Park, processes horticultural waste into compost using an in-vessel composting process.

Recycling of Wood Waste

M/s LHT Holdings Limited, located at Sungei Kadut Street 1, processes wood wastes into 'technical wood' which are used as raw materials for products such as tables, doors, flooring and building materials and new wooden pallets, crates and casing. Horticultural waste such as tree trunks are also processed and used in the technical wood.  

M/s NewEnergy Corporation (S) Pte Ltd, located at Sarimbun Recycling Park, carbonises wood wastes into charcoal related products. In addition horticultural waste such as tree trunks are also used in the carbonising process.

Recycling of Electronic Waste

M/s Cimelia Resource Recovery Pte Ltd, located at Tuas Avenue 2, recovers precious metals from electronic waste. Other recyclable materials such as plastic, metals etc are also recovered from the electronic waste.

M/s TES-AMM (Singapore) Pte Ltd, located at Benoi Sector, recovers precious metals from electronic waste. Other recyclable materials such as metals, plastic etc are also recovered from electronic waste. In addition, lithium based batteries are processed to recover metals, plastic and other materials.

Recycling of Construction and Demolition Waste

M/s Hock Chuan Hong Waste Management Pte Ltd, located at Sarimbun Recycling Park, processes mixed construction and demolition waste to recover the various recyclable materials such as metals, plastic, paper, wood and hardcores etc. The company also manufactures pre-cast concrete products such as road kerbs and drains from recovered aggregates and sand.

M/s SembWaste Pte Ltd, located at Sarimbun Recycling Park, recovers metals, plastic, paper, wood and  hardcores from construction and demolition waste.
