Environmental Technology
Managing the environment requires a steady stream of new ideas and innovative technologies. The National Environment Agency (NEA) promotes the development of technology in waste management and pollution control.The Environmental Technology and Industry Development Office (ETIDO) were set up in Jul 2008 to focus on research and development programs in the environmental sector. It seeks to strengthen the nexus between local and global research institutions, industry-led research and national environmental priorities.
ETIDO collaborates with its partners to enlarge the R & D base, make Singapore a Test-Bed Centre and bring in new ideas/technologies to the market. It also aims to profile & create business opportunities for Singapore-based companies globally.
The IES Fund encourages and assists Singapore-registered companies to undertake innovative environmental projects that could help to meet the government’s goal of environmental sustainability. The fund offers grants to cover a percentage of qualifying costs of an approved project.
