Clean Mark Accreditation Scheme

Background

The NEA Clean Mark Accreditation Scheme (previously known as Voluntary Accreditation Scheme) for the Cleaning Industry was launched on 21 July 2010. The scheme was jointly developed by NEA, MOM, WDA and NTUC's e2i, with consultation from industry's representatives and Unions.

Objective

The Scheme targets:

Scope

This Scheme currently focuses on the provision of cleaning services in three public areas:

a) General Public
b) Commercial
c) Food & Beverage Establishments

Criteria

Cleaning companies will be assessed in the following four areas:

i) Professional and regulatory cleaning standards;
ii) Environmental health and cleanliness standards;
iii) Operation planning, support and delivery; and
iv) Training, quality of manpower and general working conditions (includes mandatory Environmental Cleaning WSQ training).

Type of Awards

There are two levels of award under the Scheme; namely Clean Mark Silver and Clean Mark Gold. The validity of the award is currently for 1 year and shall be renewed upon annual re-assessment.

Usage of Clean Mark Silver/ Gold Logos (Exclusively for Accredited Companies)

All accredited companies are entitled and encouraged to use the Clean Mark Logo for their communication and advertising materials.

Funding Support

Accredited Cleaning Companies and companies seeking Accreditation can tap on the funding support below to defray some of the operating cost:

a) Inclusive Growth Programme (IGP) funding introduced by NTUC/e2i (http://www.e2i.com.sg/services/employers/inclusive_growth_programme_productivity_gains_for_companies/)
b) WSQ course fee funding support provided by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), applicable for Singapore citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents. Please contact WDA hotline at 6883 5885 or email wda_enquiry@wda.gov.sg for details on the funding.

Submission of Applications

Please email the completed application form, together with all the supporting documentation to NEA_Accreditation@nea.gov.sg or submit to the following address:

Application may take at least four weeks to process. Successful companies shall be notified by email.

Useful Information for Service Buyers
